What were you hoping for?
A fun, chatty evening with a good atmosphere and no awkwardness.
First impressions?
A decent, calm, sweet man with many layers.
What have you been talking about?
Everything. I asked him why he chose to go on a blind date. We also talked about past relationships, but nothing deep or awkward. I felt very comfortable.
Most awkward moment?
It wasn’t until the lovely staff offered a bottle of wine which neither of us wanted.

Blind Date is Saturday’s dating column: every week, two strangers are paired up for dinner and drinks, after which they spill the beans to us and answer a series of questions. What questions am I asked?
We ask for age, location, occupation, hobbies, interests and the type of person you want to meet. If you don’t think these questions cover everything you’d like to know, tell us what’s on your mind.
Can I choose who I match with?
No, it’s a blind date! But we do ask you about your interests, preferences, etc. – the more you tell us, the better the match is likely to be.
Can I choose the photo?
No, but don’t worry: we will choose the best one.
What personal data appears?
Your first name, position and age.
How should I answer?
Honest but respectful. Keep in mind how it will come across to your date, and that Blind Date reaches a wide audience, both in print and online.
Will I see the other person’s answers?
No. We may edit yours and theirs for various reasons, including length, and we may ask you for more details.
Do you think I’m The One?
We’ll try! Wedding! Babies!
Can I do it in my hometown?
Only if it’s in Britain. Many of our applicants live in London, but we’d love to hear from people who live elsewhere.

I have no idea, but if I had to guess, I’d say confident, vibrant and sexy.
Have you moved on somewhere?
No. Phil had to travel to the Wirral after the appointment so he didn’t want to miss the last train.
And… did you kiss?
We had a few polite kisses, but nothing more and that was enough. It felt good and comfortable.
If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be?
The opportunity to spend more time in his company – and to go out dancing after dinner.

Yes. We laughed a lot. It would be great to go out with him again.

Very attractive and a big smile.

Especially the food, but also everything.

Putting the waiter on the spot about the menu ingredients.

Apart from questioning the waiter, it was quite civil.
The best thing about Angela?
Angela has a magnetic personality. She even traded socials with an American couple at the next table.

Of course, she’s welcome to meet my friends.

Outgoing, lively and passionate.

She probably thought I was quiet.

Only to the station.
And… did you kiss?
Halfway through the meal, Angela excused herself to go to the ladies room, walked past me, pointed to her mouth and said “kiss.” So unexpectedly early – yes – and then we said goodbye at the station.
If you could change one thing about the evening, what would it be?
The food was the focus of the evening – I think we could have communicated more with each other.

Because a 10 is the perfect evening, I would give the evening a 7. Angela was a fascinating person to sit across from.
