Today’s Strands is kind of tricky, although it depends on your interests, I guess. As someone who wasn’t very familiar with what the theme ultimately was, I was a bit lost and confused with some of this, even once I realized what it was. By the way, it’s the last day of September! Let’s solve the last parts of September!
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Each day we are given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that covers two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which moves from one side of the grid to the other and reveals even more about the theme of the day.

This was tricky! Definitely the most challenging Strands puzzle I’ve done since taking over these guides this weekend. I’m not very familiar with boxing so BANTAM and WELTER aren’t really on my radar, but once I found FEATHER (after already grabbing HEAVY and LIGHT) I was pretty sure they were boxing weight classes, which made me led to the spangram.
