A message on the official PSN service status page stated: “You may be experiencing issues launching games, apps or network functions. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
Sony has not yet revealed what caused the problem or how long it will take for the PlayStation networks to be operational again.
Many users are seeing the code ‘PS5 error code WS-116522-7’ when trying to launch games, with Sony’s website stating that ‘the system software update failed’. PlayStation users are complaining that they are having trouble logging into single and multiplayer games.
