PlayStation fans flood Last of Us season 2 trailer with unrelated comments

The newly debuted The last of us The Season 2 trailer has sparked some negativity from a vocal group of Sony fans, who decided to use it to air their grievances about the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. While their comments don’t dominate the discourse surrounding the trailer, they do underscore some recent consumer frustrations with PlayStation.

The products from the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection were available for pre-order on September 26. Most of these immediately sold out in every market where Sony chose to offer them. This turn of events did not sit well with some consumers, especially when it became clear that a substantial portion of the limited edition collection was being snapped up by scalpers, who immediately began relisting them at exorbitant prices.

Some fans have now chosen to voice their frustrations over the issue in response to the former The last of us Teaser trailer of season 2, which premiered on September 26. Among other parties involved in the TV show’s production, the first look at the upcoming season was shared by PlayStation on Twitter, prompting a slew of non-sequitur fan comments complaining about the way the company handled the pre-orders for the anniversary collection. Quite a few of these grievances were focused on the PlayStation Direct storewhich reportedly kicked people out of queues that were still in use.

Aside from the frustrations over missing out on PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection products, some fans have also criticized Sony for not doing more to prevent scalping in response to the trailer. For reference, the jewel of the collection, the PS5 Pro Bundle, is currently selling on eBay for up to $13,750, a 1.276% markup. Several ongoing eBay auctions for the bundle have already attracted more than $5,000 in bids as of September 28, although it is currently unclear whether the offers they attracted are legitimate.

While these responses have generated some attention on Twitter, they still represent only a small minority of responses The last of us Season 2 trailer, most of which is indeed tied to the show’s second season, which is currently on track to premiere in 2025. Whatever the case, this turn of events illustrates that some PlayStation fans are unhappy with the way the 30th Anniversary Collection pre-orders have been handled.

Adding to their frustrations are recent reports that some pre-orders for the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition have been canceled without explanation. Those lucky enough to snag a pre-order can expect their new PS1-themed console bundle on November 21st.
