All kinds of rumors have surfaced about the Switch ‘successor’ and now another individual has chimed in.

The latest claims about Nintendo’s next generation of hardware come from Ruben Mercado, the CEO of video game accessories maker Blade. Speaking to Spanish website Vandal recently on a podcast, Mercado said the new device is apparently “done” and “ready” to go.

To add to this, the executive said that Blade already has access to near-final versions of the hardware and believes the new Nintendo system will launch simultaneously worldwide in March or April next year.

The timing of the new system’s release will apparently depend on Nintendo’s financial figures for the current year, with claims that it could launch in March if sales don’t meet the company’s expectations or at the start of the new financial year in April 2025 if the results are positive. .

Mercado also addressed some of them other rumors related to the ‘Switch 2’, such as the magnetic Joy-Con controllers. He says they will have a “locking system” to keep them tied to the system. The peripheral manufacturer also says that its current line of analog stick covers will not be compatible with the new device because the new sticks are different.

While this is coming from the CEO of an accessory company, take everything here with a grain of salt. And keep in mind that we’re still waiting for Nintendo’s official Switch announcement of the “successor,” which will take place “this fiscal year,” ending March 2025.

A rumor in August this year suggested that Nintendo’s Switch successor would not be released in the current financial year.
